Diver Portable Communication Set
This unit is a 2-channel simplex diver communication set. It is designed to operate with a 2-wire connection to the diver’s helmet, where the microphone and earphones are connected in parallel.
The tender can use either a headset with boom microphone or the built-in speaker/microphone to communicate with the diver.
Communications are controlled by the press to talk (PTT) switch that is on the front panel or part of the tender headset.
The communication set is powered from its internal rechargeable battery or an external DC supply.
Battery and external power supply
If an external supply is used, the internal battery will act as an emergency supply, should the external supply fail.
The external supply needs to be in the range 13 to 15 volts for correct operation.
When the external supply drops below 13 volts, the internal battery will be preferably used.
A low battery indicator LED is fi tted to the front panel to indicate when battery capacity is low.
When the low bat LED fl ashes, the battery should be recharged as soon as possible.
To charge the internal battery, connect the charger to the power/charger socket on the front panel and to a suitable main supply. The charge light will extinguish when the battery is fully charged.
